The Hubby

I met my husband, Steve, on a dating site in January of 2008. At the time I didn’t know anyone else who was dating someone they’d met online. News stories of online predators encountered in AOL chatrooms still occupied our minds and my concerned friend was ready to hide in the bushes with a baseball bat when I arranged to meet him for the first time. She held back when I explained that I was meeting him at a busy restaurant and promised I wouldn’t follow him into any dark alleys.

Steve and I instantly connected, chatting for several hours uncovering so many things we had in common. A couple weeks later, on Valentine’s Day, he showed up at my work with flowers asking me to be his date that evening. When he had chocolate covered strawberries, wine and another red rose waiting for me on our date, I knew this was my guy!

 In 2010, I walked down the aisle at our Christmas themed wedding and said “I do” to a very special man I feel blessed to call husband. Over the years we’ve enjoyed merging our holiday and seasonal traditions and creating a few new ones of our own. Oh, and by the way, that friend that wanted to wait in the bushes with a baseball bat . . .she ended up meeting her husband on the same dating site and getting married before we did!
